Nature’s Rainbow

Wednesday, August 1st, 2007

It was a hot, humid day yesterday, so my daughters and I retreated to the nearby woods, where we sought shelter in the shade of the tall trees and distraction from the heat as we hiked through the winding trails.

Here are our findings of the day, our goal being to find something natural in each of the colors of the rainbow. With a low camera battery and an almost full camera card, it was a challenge to decide on the spot which photos to take, which to keep, which to delete.

If only life’s decisions could be made with a preview screen and a finger ready to trigger the delete button…

Smile

Sunday, July 30th, 2006

Little reminders that life is good are everywhere, sometimes in the most unexpected places.

As I was making dinner tonight, I cut the top off of a red pepper and looked down to see a little face smiling back up at me. (See the eyes, nose and mouth? Click the image for a closer look… I swear to you this is an untouched photo.) Doesn’t he make such a cute flower? Hee hee.

Life becomes precious and more special to us when we look for the little everyday miracles and get excited about the privileges of simply being human. Tim Hansel

Find The Art in the Everday
Find The Art In The Everyday, art journal page, 7 October 2005.

Find the art in the everyday. Beautiful concept, isn’t it? I think it involves seeing the ordinary in extraordinary ways. Having an appreciation for the raw realities of life. Being open-minded and attentive in a noisy world of chaos and clutter. Have you found the art in your everday?
