Happy New Year

And so it has happened, another year past. So long, 2006 — it’s been quite a ride. And hello there, 2007!
New Year’s Day is my very favorite holiday. There is no stress over decorations, no pressure to find the perfect gifts, and no stretching every dollar of the budget to its very limit. Just a universal hope that the new year holds more promise and opportunity than the ones before it. This year we rang in the new year as usual: we ate dinner as a family, made our own party hats and noisemakers, opened a bottle of bubbly (and sparkling white grape juice for the kids), and celebrated in our own quirky, silly way.
It is difficult not to believe that the next year will be better than the old one! And this illusion is not wrong. Future is always good, no matter what happens. It will always give us what we need and what we want in secret. It will always bless us with right gifts. Thus in a deeper sense our belief in the New Year cannot deceive us.
Wishing you a new year full of many blessings and much joy! xo
