Mess Fest
Sunday, August 20th, 2006
Today I was blessed with a long overdue retreat into my art studio, my own little good-for-the-soul, I’m-in-the-zone mess fest. I put down a few layers of a collage and then worked on some handmade papers for an upcoming project I am tossing around in my head (I will share more details when I get it underway). It’s amazing what can happen when I have a span of hours in the studio versus the small chunks of time I usually have scattered throughout my day. I was really able to get into the groove, keep my focus and get lost in the process… it’s been quite a while since that last happened. I swear, had I not had to get back to my regularly scheduled life, I think I could have kept on going for weeks!
Woman is born to create… in creating she becomes herself, accomplishes her destiny. Her whole life is only an initiation into creative power. To create is not merely to produce a work… it is to give out ones own individuality.
P.S. Thank you all so very much for your recommendations! I am looking forward to checking out all your suggestions, very excited to see so many were totally new to me. And a special thank you to Heather who has made me a Blingo winner yet again!
