Inspire Me Thursday: Child’s Play
The theme at Inspire Me Thursday this week was Child’s Play; the challenge was to create something inspired by a childhood memory or to create something using children’s art supplies. The background of my mixed media postcard was created with children’s liquid watercolor paints using a technique I learned in a Traci Bautista workshop, and the heart was created from melted crayons and wax paper.

On a sidenote…. You must go check out this supercute mini movie. And then, just to balance it out so you don’t burst from the cuteness, go watch the. worst. video. ever.

And last, but not least, a special thank you to Lelainia for the cool mini notebook, scissor tail/zipper pull and star pouch she sent to me! We had planned on meeting and trading at Artfest, but unfortunately our paths never crossed. We will definitely have to meet next year, Lelainia!

I love this postcard! The background colors are so soft and create a really lovey filter over the words. The wax heart is very cool! I like the way you’ve stitched aropund everything…it makes me long for a sewing machine:> Really pretty, Melanie!

OMG, Melanie! Your cards are, of course, beautiful, but that David Hasselhoff video? Pushed me right over the edge!! Becasue of some sick, perverted, curiosity to look at more of his viseos I even got to remember what an egotistical moron he is!
Thanks for the belly laugh!
