Wednesday Confessions

Purple Cone Flowers

I’m trying to get back into the groove of blogging… I always have quite an abundance of things I would love to share, but it always seems that when I have the time, I don’t have the energy. And when I do have the energy, I’m lacking the time. Here I am today, with a tiny bit of each, so I thought I’d follow Misty’s lead and air some of my dirty laundry…

· Speaking of dirty laundry… I’m awful at keeping up with it and yet I don’t like anyone doing our laundry but me. I cringe when my husband folds my shirts the wrong way, or when I see him put in a load of black, pink and yellow clothes all mixed together (yet he never seems to discolor anything!). Although I have enlisted the help of the little ones to put away some of their own clothes, so that helps ease the burden a bit.

· Physical quirk. I cannot yell. Well, physically, yes, I can yell, but just about anytime I do, I end up with a hoarse voice. The same thing happens if I raise my voice or talk too much. A few days ago, reading books to my daughters before bed, my voice was crackly. It had been one of those days.

· Personality quirk. I am usually more of an introvert, and I need a good daily dose of solitude to stay sane. I just love people, and I find it so interesting and entertaining to see how personalities mesh together, yet I get so drained from being around others, especially large groups. (That is until I have had a few drinks and I then become oh so extroverted; a surefire way to gauge how much I have had to drink is to make note of how talkative I have become).

· Guilty pleasure. I’m embarassed to admit this, but… instant coffee. I know, I know, nasty, right? Well, it is only on occasion and it must be the ‘good stuff’ (yes, a subjective statement at best), loaded with sugar and milk, completely different than my ‘just black’ preference.
· Never say never. I’ve always appreciated the amazing beauty of nature, but I didn’t think I would ever enjoy the effort it took to grow a garden or maintain beautiful landscape around our house… until this summer. A sudden shift and all of a sudden pulling weeds is almost *gasp* therapeutic. (The photos above and below show a few of the beauties that are blooming in our garden right now.)

Okay, anyone else need to come clean and let loose on some confessions?

This is a cool meme and I love the photos you posted with it.

Also, your description of yourself as an Introvert who converts to an Extrovert when drinking (my, that’s a lot of ‘verts! Heh) - me tooooo! That describes me *exactly*.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and leaving a comment!

I loved your dirty laundry and I only wish that I could have an extroverted drink or 3 with you, my sister in introvertedness (is that even a word?) I love my own alone time, crave it most days and feel bitchy when my husband works from home (like today) as though it’s an invasion of MY space. Even though he worked from home so I could see patients this morning, not nice I know.
I laughed when I read about the laundry thing. I won’t let my husband do the laundry either, he rolls my clothes when he folds it, even though he says he’s doing his best.
