SPT {on the verge}

Friday, December 30th, 2005

My digital camera is out of commission this week since the batteries are no longer recharging, hence the reason that 1) I am late with this week’s SPT, and 2) I opted instead to use a previous self portrait on a journal page.

On The Verge, art journal page, 29 December 2005.

I was greatly inspired by this refreshing example of self-esteem and gratitude toward life. Her statements about her rebirth, about becoming the person she always wanted to be, are so thought provoking and encouraging.

I feel like I have been on the journey of becoming me for so long now, but it was only recently that I felt like I was making any great strides, thanks to time and maturity, I suppose. I finally feel like I am headed in the right direction, on the verge of the truth and acceptance needed to become the me as I was meant to be.

Self Portrait Tuesday {i need a few clones, please}

I’m thinking it would be kind of nice to have this many of me, at least for the next week or so. With Christmas just around the corner, I sure could use the help.

My to do list: ship a few packages; create several handmade gifts; stalk the UPS guy for my Amazon.com order that might not make it in time for Christmas; write and mail holiday cards; wrap gifts (for twenty seven people!); attend Christmas concert and party at daughter’s school; cry when I look at my bank account balance; bake cookies and make holiday crafts with my kids; celebrate with our family (four separate occasions); go out with some friends who are coming in from out of town; and remain happy, upbeat, grateful and festive throughout the season.

How is your week before Christmas going?
