makeover

You know what one of the best perks of being a mom to two little divas is? Free makeovers! My baby turned 3 years old yesterday (gasp!), and one of her gifts was a little cosmetics kit (yes, I know, what were they thinking?!?). She offered, with the assistance of her five year old sister, to give me a makeover — how could I refuse the chance to wear purple lipstick, pink blush, teal blue eye shadow, and seventeen funky barettes in my hair?

Idiosyncrasies

Saturday, August 20th, 2005

I was tagged by Kristin days ago for the Idiosyncrasies meme, but I’ve been stalling. It’s hard to think of what I may do peculiar when it all seems so normal to me, you know? So, at long last, here’s five quirky things about me:

  1. I find it very difficult to throw away the scraps from my projects — bits of paper, ribbon, wire, whatever. Even tiny, tiny pieces. The goal is to keep recycling the scraps and use them in new projects, which I do, but definitely not at the same rate as I am collecting them.
  2. I will devise a detailed strategy and use every pot and pan in the kitchen if that’s what it takes to have everything ready for dinner at the same time.
  3. I read magazines backward. I mean, from back to front, last page to front cover.
  4. I must sleep with a sheet on at least some part of my body, and I always have a foot peeking out.
  5. I cannot drink water from a cup when I’m at home; I will only drink bottled water. Yet, when I am at someone else’s house or at a restaurant, I am fine with — and even enjoy — drinking water in a cup. This one baffles even me.

If you haven’t yet been tagged for this meme, consider yourself tagged now! What are five of your idiosyncrasies?

Wait and See
Wait and See, art journal page, 15 August 2005.
Acrylic paints, pens, alphabet stamps, images, and
a small glassine envelope to hold a few secrets…

Let us not be content to wait and see what will happen, but give us the determination to make the right things happen.Horace Mann
