80 Pieces

80 Pieces, art journal page, 20 July 2005.
Acrylic paints, embossed paper, stamps, photo.

Yesterday I was having a conversation with my mom about goals, and I vowed I would strive for seven completed projects per week. Compared to my current and past output, this seemed like a worthwhile goal. Then tonight I’m listening to HeartsART talk radio and Claudine Hellmuth mentions an assignment she had in college to make 80 pieces of art in a three-week period. Hmm, kind of makes my goal seem a bit like child’s play, doesn’t it? In referencing this assignment she was emphasizing the importance of doing a lot of art in order to develop one’s own style… definitely the one thing I feel I am lacking — a distinct style of my own. A good reason to get in the studio everyday!

Cool…love the vintage image and the green. I really like that you always leave plenty of room to say something on your pages. Doesn’t hurt that your handwriting is fabulous, also!
