Altered wooden letters embellished with fabric, thread, needles, buttons, scissors and other fun sewing-related items. A gift for my very favorite seamstress.

Here is a glimpse at the process of creating these letters:

The letters have been primed then painted with an initial coat of acrylic paint. The fabric has been painted with watered down glue, acrylics and Twinkling H20s.

Here I was experimenting with placement of the objects and seeing how the fabric was going to fit on the letters. Some warping of the fabric occured with drying time, but fortunately the fabric went on smooth and I was able to work it back into shape.

The fabric was painted with both acrylic paints and Twinkling H20s which resulted in bright, vibrant colors with just a hint of shimmer.
