The Trouble Tree

Did you ever hear the tale about the trouble tree? It is a story about a man who hangs his troubles on the tree outstide his home every night so as not to bring them inside and bother his family with them.

Well, this is my trouble tree. I have hung it on the door to the room I have claimed as my art studio, and it serves as a simple reminder to leave problems outside of this room which has become a sort of sanctuary to me in this little insane world of ours.

I printed the story on newsprint, then covered the page with various layers of acrylic glazes and paints, then mounted on mustard yellow cardstock. I stamped tree (Zettiology) in black on white tissue paper, trimmed and layered on the page.
